The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Ekiti State, Dr. Oluwole Oluyede, has felicitated with Muslims across Nigeria and beyond on the occasion of this year’s Eid-el-Maulud celebration, urging them to use the occasion to pray for peace, unity and prosperity in the country.
Oluyede, in a goodwill message issued to mark the celebration, described Eid-el-Maulud as a significant occasion for Muslims to reflect on the life, teachings and exemplary character of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), particularly his virtues of peace, compassion, justice, patience and peaceful coexistence.
He urged Muslims to draw inspiration from the life of the Prophet and demonstrate greater love, tolerance and kindness towards one another, stressing that the values of peaceful coexistence and respect for humanity remain essential to the progress of Nigeria.
According to him, the country needs prayers and collective efforts from all Nigerians to overcome its challenges and build a more united, peaceful and prosperous nation.
“Eid-el-Maulud is not only a period of celebration, but also an opportunity for us to reflect on the life and teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
“His life remains a timeless example of compassion, justice, sacrifice, patience and peaceful coexistence. These are values that we must continue to uphold in our homes, communities and public life.
“I therefore call on Muslims across the country to use this special occasion to pray for peace, stability, unity and prosperity in Nigeria,” he said.
The PDP candidate also called on political leaders and citizens to embrace dialogue, tolerance and mutual respect, regardless of political, religious, ethnic or social differences.
Oluyede stressed that Nigeria’s development could only be achieved when citizens and leaders work together for the common good, noting that the welfare and security of the people must remain the priority of every government.
He urged Nigerians, particularly those blessed with the means, to remember the less privileged during the celebration by extending love, generosity and support to vulnerable members of society.
“Let us use this occasion to strengthen the bonds of brotherhood, friendship and unity among us. We should remember the less privileged and those going through difficult times, and extend a helping hand to them.
“Nigeria belongs to all of us, and we must continue to work together, pray together and support one another. Our differences should never be allowed to divide us,” Oluyede added.
He also appealed to the people of Ekiti State to continue to uphold the state’s tradition of peace, tolerance and communal harmony, describing peaceful coexistence as a key foundation for sustainable development.
Oluyede congratulated Muslims on the celebration and prayed that the occasion would bring renewed hope, peace and blessings to Muslim families and Nigerians across the country.
He wished Muslims a peaceful and joyous Eid-el-Maulud celebration, while praying that Almighty Allah would continue to guide the nation’s leaders and grant Nigeria enduring peace, unity and prosperity.
